USANA Reset, here I come!!

Aloha Buddies~

So the name of the new diet I’m going to try is called USANA.  My sister in law first tried it for herself back in October of last year, and she lost over 40 pounds. Today she looks amazing, and has more energy and life than she’s had in a long time. And I thought it was strictly because of the handsome man from Texas that she met over the internet. (LOL~)  Apparently, being in love is only HALF the reason.  ;-)   This diet has done wonders for her.  She came over last night to our home, and presented the details to the members in my family who are interested in shedding off the pounds.  It sounds very reasonable and very healthy, so we ordered what we needed.  We start with a cleansing process called “The Reset” where you substitute 3 shakes for your meals, and protein bars for your snacks, and you begin simply with 5 days.  I will share more with you as I get started on the diet myself.  But for now - we wait with much anticipation.

So what kind of diet successes are you having, buddies?? Has anyone ever heard of the USANA program? I sure hadn’t before.  In fact, I never thought in all my years of growing up that I would be experimenting with new diets while in my 30’s.  Kinda depressing, I know. But hey, it’s fun anyway!! Life isn’t supposed to turn out the way we want, right?  ;-)  I guess it would be boring if we always got what we wanted…  hmmm, let’s think about that one.

Anyway, thanks for all your friendship, love and support Buddies.  You’re all as awesome as can be!!!  Have a terrific week!!

Happy Happy Joy Joy girl signing off~ Mahalo!!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Happy Memorial Day weekend, buddies~

This is such a wonderful time to remember all those who fought and died for our country. My family just returned from visiting the grave of my husband’s Grandfather who died back in 1998. He had served heroically in the navy - in World War two, out in the Pacific. He spent 30 years in the Civil Air Patrol. When he got out of the navy, he continued to serve as a contractor in the army, putting missle silos into Greenland.  He lived a long and full life of service, dying only a couple of years after I married my husband. So I never knew him really well. But he was a great man. My husband and I took his mother, Sharlene, and his little brother Larry out to the grave sight tonight where we sat and watched the sun go down over a near-by river. It was beautiful and peaceful, and we talked about eternal families and all of things that make our world such an incredible place to live…

Have I mentioned how much I love my family?

So…my family and I are all starting a brand new diet together. We are getting together on Tuesday night to discuss it, and how it will help to better our lives. I’ll be sure to tell you all about it once we begin. We’re all quite excited about it. Bob’s little brother Larry weighs over 400 pounds, and has always had a difficult time managing his weight. His mother also cannot weigh herself on the scale at the moment, and I am very excited to see how much their lives will change with this new diet that has worked wonders for my sister in law, Annie.  ;-)  Bob and I wanted to try it, simply because we want to live longer and healthier lives, and we haven’t been loosing as much weight as we’d like too with the Body for Life diet.  I’m happy to say that I’ve been slimming down and feeling better about myself these past few weeks. But I’d like to see myself get down to the weight I’ve always been, so that I don’t have to worry about it anymore…if that makes sense.  I’m tired of thinking about my weight so much. I don’t live a very productive life when I’m worried all the time about how much I weigh.

Soooo… the only way to solve that problem is to slim down to where I want to be, and practice staying there!!  For me it means to say goodbye to the ice cream and rootbeer that I love so desperately, and attach myself more permenantly to water and vegatables!!  What do you think buddies???

Well everyone have a wonderful and happy Memorial day, and remember how lucky we are to live in a free country.  Oh, and if you’re bored, come and visit my new website at http://happy-happyjoy-joy.blogspot.com/   I started this new blog over the weekend and I’m having a blast with it.  Dontcha’ just love writing!!??!!   Take care buddies!!  Happy Happy Joy Joy!!

Who Am I?????

WOW!  How long has it been since I’ve blogged a blog?  I almost forgot how to log into buddy slim!  And I think I even forgot how to spell my own name… how sad is that? ;-)   I’m going to need to re-aquaint myself and make new friends, hopefully rekindle the old ones.

 Time to blog a blog!!!!

Where to even start?  Honestly, I haven’t been thinking much about my weight loss as I’ve remained pretty much consistant over the weeks. I’ve been forgetting myself in the lives and problems of others, which has been alot more interesting than my own life, I really must say. ;-)  My mother recently finished her chemo and radiation treatments for her colon cancer, and is now preparing to have her surgery in June.  We’ve been helping to take care of my 91 year old Grandmother to help remove the extra burden from my mother’s shoulders.  We’re also taking care of my husband’s precious handicap brothers, and trying to help them in their quest to become men. ;-)  And of course my work hours seem endless, I’m barely ever home to just relax and write my novel, as I’ve been trying to do for the past few years.  Yes, life has been busy and nothing but crazy fun!!

Oh yes, and three of my closest friends recently had their babies.  I’m sure you’ve all seen Karen’s darling baby Kaydn on her blog  (YAY Karen and Trent!)   He’s adorable, yes sireee!  And my best friend Laura also had her first baby girl (on the same day Kaydn was born) and they named her Shori Lyn Olsen (I will have to post pictures next time for you to see.)  I was able to be there in the delivery room for that incredible experience, and her husband even let me cut the cord, wow!!  Plus another dear friend of mine, Monique,  had a baby girl they named Brooke.  I love seeing all these babies come to the world as I continue to hope and pray that someday my hubby and I will be lucky enough to have this experience for our very own.   It’s amazing to observe. I love being the aunt!  My hubby and I, however, adopted a baby kitten in our home a few weeks ago, and we named her Galaxy.  She is precious as can be, and we feel just like new parents in our own, unique way.  We have lots of love and good times in our home.   Life is good!

Anyway buddies, I will come and visit your websites today. Sorry I’ve been out of the loop for so long.  I hope everyone is doing well and I can’t wait to see how you’ve been progressing with your goals. ;-)   Smile and be happy, for life is way too short not to be!!

So who am I???   I am happy happy joy joy!!
